Kubo shares pro secrets with young fans
Japan national team midfielder Takefusa Kubo (25) held a special clinic for 86 elementary school students at the "JAL Special Soccer Lesson 2026" on July 19. The playmaker, whose team recently lost 1-2 to Brazil (2W-2D-1L in last 5), answered children's questions about becoming a professional.
Dribbling success requires confidence
Kubo demonstrated his skills in one-on-one drills, advising: "Technique comes with practice. The key is believing in yourself to perform under pressure." He added assists in mini-games, showcasing his world-class vision.

Asked about his most valuable childhood training, Kubo cited "endless running drills without touching the ball." He explained: "I hated running, but doing what you dislike is the fastest path to success."

When asked what matters most as a player, Kubo emphasized: "A pro career lasts longer than the journey there. You must truly love the game to excel." He stressed quality over quantity in training.
