Yuya Shimamoto Selected for U-21 Japan National Team
On March 31, the Japan Football Association announced that Yuya Shimamoto from Kashima FC has been selected for the U-21 Japan National Team. Shimamoto is a native of Kumamoto and played high school football at his hometown's Daizuka High School.
Active Performance at 19 Years Old
Shimamoto, who plays as an MF (Midfielder), began showing promise in the Meiji Jingu Gaien 100-Year Plan League. After scoring his first professional goal in a match against Nagasaki on April 5, he has been starting in nine consecutive games and currently holds three goals.

Through the club, Shimamoto expressed his gratitude by saying, 'This time, I am very happy to be selected as part of the Japanese national team. As a representative of Kashima FC, I will strive to achieve success with numbers in mind and aim for victory.' Additionally, he stated, 'As a representative of Kashima, I want to work hard, and also hope that through my play, I can bring some cheer to those suffering from the Kumamoto earthquake.'
