Dentsu analyzed the viewing habits of Japan's FIFA World Cup 2026 matches. The results showed that fans were able to balance their daily lives with their viewing habits, choosing different methods of viewing, purchasing, and traveling depending on the situation.

Television Viewing Habits

According to a survey by Video Research, the real-time television viewership (reach) for the four matches was approximately 68.49 million people. Additionally, DAZN reported that they had around 11 million viewers. A separate survey conducted by Dentsu found that around 3.7 million people watched the matches outside of their homes, at bars, public viewing events, friends' and family members' homes, or at work.

Fans were not just watching the matches at the same time, but were also designing their own viewing experiences, including food, travel, and work arrangements.
