Transfer Talks for Suzuki
Japan national team goalkeeper Zion Suzuki (鈴木彩艶) has reached a club agreement to move to English club Aston Villa, as reported by "The Athletic" on August 16. Suzuki will transfer for a maximum transfer fee of 35 million euros (around 55 billion yen) with a potential bonus, and will sign a five-year contract until 2031. It was reported that Suzuki consistently wished to join Aston Villa this summer.
Martínez Transfer Talks
Aston Villa has long been highly rated Suzuki and has been closely following his movements for about two years. The movement around Martínez, the Argentine national team goalkeeper, is also accelerating, with a new offer from Juventus FC.
Juventus is willing to pay a maximum of 10 million euros (around 1.8 billion yen) with a basic fee of 700,000 euros and a bonus of 300,000 euros. There was a gap in the valuation set by both clubs for Martínez, but it is reported that the difference is narrowing.
Suzuki joined the top team of浦和レッズ (Shimizu S-Pulse) from the academy and made his professional debut in his teens. He then had a loan spell in Belgium before joining Parma in the summer of 2024. At Parma, he quickly secured the goalkeeper's position and made 57 league appearances in the last two seasons. He also kept the goal in all four matches of the FIFA North America Cup this summer for the Japan national team.
